Internationally praised Malaysian-born songstress YUNA has teamed up with Idolator.com to premiere her new song “Let Love Come Through” featuring KYLE. “Let Love Come Through” is the second song to be released from her upcoming digital EP ‘Sixth Street,’ that will be out on May 7, 2013 via Verve Records. Last week, KCRW premiered “I Wanna Go,” the single off of ‘Sixth Street,’ on their Morning Becomes Eclectic radio show. Produced by Mike Einziger of INCUBUS, the effortless track can be heard here.
In support of her new EP, YUNA has partnered with virtual venue platform Stage-It to host a worldwide EP Release Show on the EP’s release date of May 7th. A ticket for the show is $10 and will give fans access to a live video feed, where YUNA will be performing songs from the EP and other fan favorites. To further celebrate the EP, LA Weekly has launched the “I Wanna Go” See Yuna contest, where five lucky winners will be chosen to attend the EP release show in-person, as it broadcasts live from the Indie-Pop offices. Entry information and other details on the contest can be seen here.
Already recognized worldwide, 2012 served as YUNA’s breakout year in North America. With her self-titled debut, Rolling Stone championed her as having, “certified indie cred and massive pop potential,” and Complex described her as, “a deeply refreshing addition to America’s musical landscape.” She’s performed on national television, was a finalist for MTV Iggy’s “Best New Band In The World,” has had multiple songs featured in movies and on soundtracks, and played both Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. She recently appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” where she performed her duet with multi-platinum recording artist OWL CITY, “Shine Your Way.” The track can be heard here, and is the theme song in Dream Works Animation’s 3D comedy, THE CROODS.
